Happy Birthday to Me

So, today is my birthday!!! Yes, that's right, I am your typical Leo queen. For those of you who are into astrology, I am a triple Leo! Therefore, the fire burns bright in me. I used to not know anything about astrology until I met one of my best friends, La Luna <3. She read me my birth chart, and everything she explained was me. I would always hear people talking about their season, and how during their birthday month they were thriving. I didn't know how true this statement was until this Leo szn, after I learned about how the universe has my back. I truly feel like I'm thriving, and here's why! For one, I am about to start my second year at UC Berkeley as a resident assistant in the newly built resident hall, Blackwell. I am really looking forward to meeting my residents and getting to help them transition to Cal. I am also working alongside UC Berkeley Admissions, as their Out-of-State student mentor. With this position, I will be a signatory on all of the letters sent out to out-of-state prospected students. I am also currently on two different Chancellor's Committees. I found out yesterday that I will be one of the Co-Executive Directors of the Indigenous and Native Coalition, Recruitment and Retention Center!!! This is a huge deal, considering this is only my second year working with INC-RRC. Last year, I was blessed enough to serve as the Co-Social Retention Coordinator with one of my other best friends, Ms. Adina Lewis. Academically, I currently hold a 3.5 GPA, and I am taking my prerequisite for the Rhetoric major this semester, meaning that I will officially be able to declare my major after this fall semester. Everything is falling into place, and I'm so excited to see what this year has in store for me. I am so blessed to see another year, and every year it seems like I'm learning something new. I am truly thriving this Leo szn, and it's cool to see all my hard work pay off. This is why it has already been one of my best birthday's yet.
